ABOUT ME

Parenting strategist and fellow journeyer with an attuned ear to guide families forward with hope.

Parenting. One word that weighs more than we can measure. When it leans into the messy, broken, vulnerable territories of our relationships with humility and courage, something spectacular happens to the family. It takes work, grit, and endless grace. I have never met a soul who didn’t believe it’s worth it.”

Overview

What is a Parent Coach?

A certified professional who assists parents in cultivating a deeper connection with their child through healthier communication strategies. Provides a safe, non judgemental place to talk, working collaboratively to establish weekly goals and plans to practice, in order to move forward and gain confidence in parenting. A coach helps parents learn how to proactively solve problems regarding unwanted behaviors, navigating a deeper understanding of root issues and how they relate to unhealthy patterns. They support parents with thoughtful, intentional presence and confidentiality, helping parents to feel more in control and encouraged. A coach guides parents into brainstorming sessions and encourages the implementation of new systems and tools. They hold parents accountable for established goals and plans by following up weekly to stay focused and encourage growth. A coach is not a therapist.

How does coaching work?

Most clients have 6-10 coaching appointments by phone lasting 50 min each. Meeting by phone enables us to meet wherever you are and on your time table. Coaching sessions are typically weekly. We give room in between sessions for work to be done and to be able to build on each session. I listen to your story to learn about your family dynamics, struggles, strengths, and hopes. Each session, we look into your current issues of concern and I guide you to focus on  goals creating action plans to focus on as we move forward. We focus on goals with a collaborative approach on your timeline. You are the expert on your family, I am here to help you personalize a plan each week that brings new strategies, celebrations, and hope.

Coaching vs. Therapy

Therapists focus on issues retrospectively and aim to fix what was broken in the past while Coaches look more at the present and current issues to help create goals to move forward and into better, healthier rhythms.

Therapy uses diagnosis and can be short-term or last years while Coaching does not diagnose and is shorter term.

Life-Changing Benefits of Coaching

Parent coaching holds a strong reputation for increasing confidence and joy in parenting. While building more solid and healthier relationships between parents and their children, can in time strengthen the whole family unit. Coaching assists in cultivating better communication and decreasing stress. These sessions build on the gift of more and more peace in the home.
